"Reno" $2500 6yr palomino QH gelding Reno has been a trail horse his entire life. He was purchased by a family 3 yrs ago. They are downsizing, and Reno is offered for sale as the other horses are older, with one young one just learning...Reno's stuck in the middle.
I personally like this horse a lot. He does not clip or just acts like hes never been clipped. He just acts like a baby thats never been taught to clip. Good for the farrier, bridles easily and rides in a bit or a parelli halter. But, he does do pretty much everything else. He bathes, loads/backs off, catches easily, doesnt know ONE thing about riding in a ring. He has a natural slow jog and lope to him although you usually have to ask for the jog, which I do when I ride him as Im not going to trot in a western saddle on a 15.1h horse. Ha. But he can do it so I ask him for it and he will jog if you ask. His lope is FAB-U-LOUS! I mean go nowhere rocking chair kind of sit back and cadillac lope. Love it. In fact, Id rather walk, or lope anyway.
Hasnt been iffy or spooky about a thing. Rode at the river and all over the farm on trails/does the dogs-water-traffic-chaos of the barn just fine. He works off of leg and will side pass some, he neck reins pretty well, and lopes right off when you ask him...like smooch and squeeze and hes in a little canter lope thing thats like riding a cloud. Can you tell I like him? His papers were LOST...yes, LOST by the previous owner. But hey, youve seen enough horses to know that this fellow isnt made from spare parts, right? He probably can get palomino papers. He will NOT be cheaper than $2500. In fact, if he hangs around and I get something else sold, he will go up in price as Ill lock in his lil jog and hold to him myself. He carries saddlebags and all the by himself/with other horses/stop and go to the bathroom then get back on the trail stuff fine. Hes a trail horse. And a good one. Leads or follows, and ponies another horse, too. No vices and sound. Old hock scar but not an issue whatsoever.
Reno is currently priced at $2500. He would make a VERY comfortable english horse for someone as well.
